The Stillroom Glossary

Some words arrived before we knew what to do with them.
Origin Field.
Soul Codex.
Living Manuscript.
Words from the Stillroom, with drawings and whatever understanding has grown around them.

Sealed Field
A field that has remembered its own edges.
Not a wall.
Not a fortress.
Not a withdrawal from life.
Quite the opposite.
A sealed field is so alive that it no longer spills itself everywhere.
Its streams know where to flow.
Its gates know when to open.
Its roots no longer apologise for growing where they grow.
When a field is unsealed,
everything enters.
Everything leaves.
The winds borrow its seeds.
The feet of strangers flatten its herbs.
Its own song becomes difficult to hear beneath the noise.
When a field becomes sealed,
its life doesn't shrink.
It deepens.
The birds still arrive.
Guests still enter.
Rain still falls.
Love still walks through the gate.
But not by accident.
By welcome.
A sealed field recognises its own belonging.
And because it belongs to itself,
it can finally belong generously to others.
